About Me

Hi, I'm Jenny, I'm twenty one, I live in Switzerland with my family (in other words, haven't left home yet) and we live in a beautiful area near Rapperswil, which is at the opposite end of Zurich lake to Zurich city and has incredible views of the lake and mountains.

I've lived in Switzerland for five years, went to school in the UK and then studied at home for a bit, and I'm still always gettting asked where I go to school, which drives me insane. I know I look young but I don't think I look that young.

I love reading (I'm big into science books right now-I know, I'm a nerd), all kinds of music, good films, skiing, single malt whiskies, brewing beer and motorbikes. I'm part of the brewing team of Spiffing Ales Microbrewery, which, at the time being, is a very small operation which produces real British ale in Switzerland.

I've been writing full novels since I was thirteen (which I now look back on and think they're rubbish!) most of which have been put on the scrap heap. A few I've kept around, in case I can revive them one day. As they say though, practise makes perfect, and I think I've picked up a few skills along the way. You can read my writing tips by clicking on the menu above.

My plans for the future at the moment are to keep writing books, and I'm hopefully going to get into university next year so I can do a foundation year in biology and go on to study biochemistry. I would love to work in the research field; sitting in a lab doing research into really obscure little bits of biochemistry sounds like the sort of thing I'd be really good at (and exciting, in a geeky way).

Some random things about me: I'm absolutely terrified of telephones, as in I can't talk to people on one at all. I once won a short story competition at my local bookshop with a story I wrote in half an hour.  I'm a bit useless, it takes me ages to get anything done and I can be horribly shy. I like writing disgruntled emails to people (though I don't often send them) and having arguments. I'm a liberal, optimistic, idealistic, bisexual atheist and that doesn't begin to sum me up.

And if there's anything else anyone would like to know about me, feel free to contact me by clicking the button above and filling in the form.
