About Me

Hi, I'm Jenny, I'm  bi, and I live in Switzerland with my family. In other words, haven't left home yet, but we live in a beautiful area near Rapperswil, which is at the opposite end of Zurich lake to Zurich city and has incredible views of the lake and mountains.

I've lived in Switzerland for four years, went to school in the UK and then studied at home for a bit, and I'm still always gettting asked where I go to school, which drives me insane. I studied psychology, philosophy and English literature for AS levels, but didn't take them any further.

I like reading, all kinds of music, good films, single malt whiskies, brewing beer and motorbikes. I'm part of the brewing team of Spiffing Ales Microbrewery, which, at the time being, is a very small operation which produces real British ale in Switzerland.

My writing is what tends to dominate my life though. I have no idea what compels me to write, except that it makes me feel crazy when I don't. I've been writing full length novels since I was thirteen (which I now look back on and think they're rubbish!). You can read my writing tips by clicking on the menu above.

I'm spending a year on a working holiday in Australia starting in October. Me and my sister have started a weblog here to document our planning and (eventually) the actual trip.

Some random things about me: I'm absolutely terrified of telephones, as in I can't talk to people on one at all. I once won a short story competition at my local bookshop with a story I wrote in half an hour.  I'm a bit useless, it takes me ages to get anything done, I can be horribly shy and I don't have much ambition.

As I mentioned at the top of the page, I'm bi, and since I've been asked some extraordinarily stupid questions in the past and people seem to struggle with the overall concept there is a bit about bisexuality above.
